Firstly we would like to say how amazed we are at the speed this project has gained momentum since its conception only a few months ago! Since then we have developed all aspects of our project hugely. We have recieved 2 Council grants from Councillor Joe Lonergan and Councillor Yvonne Woodhead, as well as a grant from Bilborough college student union. So far we have been granted £1,250 which is incredible! We have begun training in earnest, we intend to compete in a few marathons early next year to raise awarness of the 5 Peaks Challenge!

So, what have we done with the £1250 we have already recieved?

Firstly, we took a trip to Peak Outdoors where we have purchased all our Peak UK water equipment at trade prices. We are using the Peak UK adventurer Dry jackets and PFDs, as well as Peak UK thermal tops and Wet Trousers. We purchased two Yak Contour Helmets (soon to be stickered up for our sponsors!

We have on order a new issue Berghaus C7 series two Rucksack for Adam, and we are currently researching what the best paddles for our needs will be.

In short we have been able to purchase all of our Land and Water equipment with the exception of the kayaks themselves, which is an incredibly promising start! We still have just over £500 left, which is likely to be spent on training costs and go towards our sea kayaks.

Look out for us in Februarys edition of Notts County News, we are both pictured in full outdoor gear by the trent at county hall!

That's all for now, we shall write again soon! :)
